Kathy Thomas-Law received her early dance training from the Atlanta School of Ballet under the direction of Dorothy Alexander. She also performed with the Atlanta Ballet, under the direction of Robert Barnett appearing in many productions including The Nutcracker, Balanchine's Serenade, and Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty,both staged by David Blair of the Royal Ballet. In 1964, Kathy received a Ford Foundation Scholarship to study with the National Ballet in Washington, D.C. under the direction of Frederick Franklin. While based in Washington, Kathy expanded her training by spending time in New York studying with such notable teachers as Alexandra Danilova and Robert Joffrey. "Miss" Kathy, as she is known to her students, has been teaching dance since 1976. She has served as a founding director of Gwinnett Ballet Theatre and has been an active member of the Southeastern Regional Ballet Association, The Dance Coalition of Metro Atlanta, The Gwinnett Council for the Arts, and a board member for the Gwinnett Council on Child Abuse. |

In 1992, "Miss" Kathy and her long-time student and friend, Rhonda Oltjenbruns founded "Praise In Motion". "Praise In Motion" is a non-profit, non-denominational, Christian Dance Ministry dedicated to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ through music and dance.
