En Pointe School of Dance

Our new Theatrical Dance class will include a classic jazz warm-up, with special emphasis on isolations and stylizations common to musical theatre. Each week, dancers will learn a dance sequence in the style of a different Broadway musical--ranging from the styles of the classic Broadway choreographers such as Bob Fosse, Jerome Robbins, and Agnes de Mille to today's Garth Fagan and Susan Stroman, to name a few. Class will be taught by Kristy Nilsson--who has been a featured performer and dancer in regional productions of Oklahoma, Cats, Oliver, Godspell, Starlight Express and Grease, among others, and has performed Theatrical Dance in venues large and small including the world-famous Spoleto Arts Festival, Seaworld, and the World's Fair in Seville, Spain.

Dancers will wear black jazz shoes, black jazz pants, and a solid-colored leotard and to bring high-heeled character shoes to every class.
