Recital 2024
Older Than Yesterday, Younger Than Tomorrow - Recital 2024 Details
Showtimes: June 1st 12:00 and 5:00 (doors will open 30 minutes before each show)
Location: Parkview High School Theater - 998 Cole Drive Southwest, Lilburn, 30047
Dress Rehearsal: May 31st 2:00-8:00 (please see schedule for your dancer’s call time)
Arrival Time: Dancers should arrive 30 minutes prior to their show time on recital day and at least 15 minutes early for their dress rehearsal time slot.
Costumes: Every dancer has been sent home with their costume and should bring it along with any accessories necessary to the theater for dress rehearsal and recital day.
Creative Movement Families: Creative Movement will dance first in our recital “pre show” and after they perform, I will call each of them onstage to take a bow and then they will go to the audience to sit with families either in a seat or on a lap for the remainder of the show.
Makeup: Ladies should wear a bit of stage makeup for the stage. Young dancers can wear as much as you are comfortable with as a parent, advanced level dancers should be in full stage makeup, including false eyelashes and red lipstick.

BALLET BUN TUTORIALS:
Ladies in ballet classes MUST have their hair in a neat bun for the performance. Please see below for a video link that demonstrates how to do a bun on different types of hair, including textured hair.
In order to have a proper ballet bun, you will need:
Ponytail holder
LOTS of bobby pins
Hairspray
Hair Gel
A Hairnet
These items can be purchased at a beauty supply store, such as Sally’s, or at drugstores, like CVS and Walgreens or Walmart.

PROGRAM ADS:
Purchase a program ad to wish your dancer good luck or to advertise your business! Program ads must be in by May 15th.
Full page 8.5”x5.5” - $100 (includes 2 photos and up to 100 words)
Half page 5.5”x 4.25” - $50 (includes 1 photo and up to 50 words)
Quarter page 2.75”x 4.25” - $25 (includes text only, no photos)
You may submit a photo of your dancer with a brief message by emailing us your photos and wording to info@enpointeschoolofdance.com. If you have a business you want to advertise, you can email a PNG, PDF, or JPG file ad for your business to info@enpointeschoolofdance.com.
REMINDER: you will NOT be able to purchase tickets at the door. We are NOT doing general admission seating this year, so you must purchase your tickets online ahead of time and select your seat.
Avoda Dance Company Spring Performance
The final performance for the 2023-2024 season featuring Avoda’s pre-professional company, pre company, and competition team. Tickets on sale May 1st at 5:00pm.
En Pointe Summer Camp
Ages 3-4 (Creative Movement) - 9:00am-11:30am. $225 for the entire week. Performance at the end of the week for parents at 11:15 on Friday.
Ages 5-9 (Beginner) - 9:00am-2:00pm - $375 for the entire week. Performance at the end of the week for parents at 1:45 on Friday.
Ages 9-12 (Intermediate) - 9:00am-2:00pm - $375 for the entire week. Performance at the end of the week for parents at 1:45 on Friday.

Classical Partnering Workshop
Advanced ballet dancers are invited to join us on June 15th for a special classical partnering workshop with former Atlanta Ballet dancer, Zach Alden, 10:00am-12:00pm. Register for this class through the customer portal for just $40.
Floor Work Workshop
Join us and special guest, Catherine Messina, from Rogue Wave Dance in NYC, for a special Modern dance workshop. We have two class options:
Advanced - 10:00am-12:00pm - $40

En Pointe Summer Camp 2

Ballet/Pointe Workshop
Join us and special EPSD alum, Anna Grace Kohen for a Ballet and Pointe workshop. We are so proud to have former EPSD dancer, Anna Grace, returning from Ballet Magnificat to teach this workshop with two class options:

Avoda Dance Company/Pre Company Summer Intensive
High-intermediate and advanced level dancers are invited to join us for Avoda Dance Company’s annual summer intensive. This intensive is mandatory for company and pre company dancers, but is open to the public as well for dancers who want to take their training to the next level without having to travel far. We are bringing amazing guest teachers from professional companies to En Pointe to give dancers an experience like no other. Take your dancing to the next level this summer!
Cost: $450 for the entire week. 9:00am-5:30pm each day for advanced/company dancers//9:00am-2:15pm each day for intermediate/pre company dancers.

Kinder Acro
This special class is designed for ages 18 months-3 years and their care-giver as a fun intro to dance and acrobatics. It’s a fun opportunity to expose your little one to something new and make cherished memories together. The class is just $30 and is one day only, July 13th at 10am. Intro to Acro
Is your dancer interested in acrobatics? This workshop is perfect for them! For one day only on July 13th, jumpstart your training with Intro to Acro 11:00am-12:30pm. This class is just $30 and can be registered for in the customer portal.
Level Up
Current Acro students are invited to “level up” with us this summer! On July 13th 1:00-3:00, we will be hosting a special workshop for dancers to take their acrobatic skills to the next level. This 2-hour workshop is $40 and can be registered for on our customer portal today.

Avoda Dance Company Presents: "Into the Wardrobe" and "Nutcracker Suite" (Copy)
Start off your holiday season with the premiere of Into the Wardrobe, a new ballet by Melinda C. Jacques inspired by the hit book, The Chronicles of Narnia: the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. Then, we will be performing our annual Nutcracker Suite featuring special guest artists and the dancers of Avoda Dance Company. This performance is family-friendly and the perfect way for your entire family to start the holiday season. Ticket details coming soon!
Merry Memories: A Christmas Recital
We are thrilled to perform our FIRST every studio-wide Christmas recital. Join us for Merry Memories on December 9th at 2:00. We will celebrate the holiday season with Ballet, Jazz, Acrobatics, Tap, Modern and more! Tickets go on sale October 28th. After the performance, return to the theater to enjoy Avoda Dance Company’s presentation of Into the Wardrobe and Nutcracker Suite! Merry Memories performers will receive discounted tickets.

Dress Up Week
During dress up week, dancers can wear their Halloween costume or any costume to their class. We will still be dancing, so make sure that your costume is appropriate to still move in easily. No risque, gory, or overly scary costumes allowed.
Bring a Friend Week
Invite a friend to ANY En Pointe class or bring them to your class all week long! During the bring-a-friend promotion, if your friend joins for the 2023-2024 season, your friend will receive a discounted registration fee of just $25 and you will receive a free En Pointe shirt, lanyard, or water bottle.

Avoda Summer Intensive
The Avoda Summer Intensive is a great option for dancers wishing to get the experience of a summer intensive without the travel costs involved. We are bringing in guest teachers to inspire our Avoda Dance Company dancers and would love to have you join us! We have a half day option for intermediate level dancers, from 9:00am to 12:15pm and a full day option for advanced level dancers 9:00am-5:30pm. We will have a school-wide picture day on May 20th. Specific times for each class will be sent out.
AVODA Dance Company Audition
Dancers 12+ or with a year of pointe experience are invited to audition for our pre-professional ballet company, AVODA. Current AVODA dancers placed in Apprentice or Junior Company level should audition to be eligible for promotion. Senior Company members are welcome to attend the audition as an example for new dancers, however, it is not required.
