Costume fees for the end-of-season recital are due by December 15th. Costumes are $90 per costume. Costumes paid after this date will incur a $25 late fee.

Avoda Dance Company presents, a premiere original ballet, The Snow Queen followed by our classic and iconic, Nutcracker Suite on December 14th at 6:30pm. For one show only, transport into a fairy tale world, imagined by “The Snow Queen” author, Hans Christian Andersen, to see a story about love, sacrifice, and true friendship. After intermission, we will enter the land of the sweets to celebrate the Christmas spirit with our annual Nutcracker Suite. This performance is appropriate and fun for the entire family and features our pre-professional dance company, Avoda Dance Company, the Pre Company level, as well as our Elementary III level classes (Melinda’s Thursday 4:30 class and Saturday 9:30 class).

Everyone dancing in the 12:00 and 3:00 shows on December 14th should attend this on stage rehearsal. We will run ALL December to Remember dances on stage for spacing and lighting purposes. This rehearsal will be fast-paced and will begin promptly at 9:00am, so we ask that everyone please arrive in between 8:30 and 8:50am to be ready to go. Following this rehearsal at 11:00am, dancers who are only performing in the 3:00 show are dismissed and free to go home until their call time at 2:15. Dancers performing in the 12:00 show will need to stay at the theater to prepare for the performance. PLEASE SEND YOUR DANCERS TO THIS SHOW WITH HAIR AND MAKEUP ALREADY DONE. I acknowledge that this will be a hectic day and I appreciate and thank you in advance for patience, cooperation, and making sure to read all instructions before the show day.

Special notes: We will NOT hold regular classes at the studio during this rehearsal. Creative Movement dancers SHOULD NOT attend this rehearsal time. ALL Creative Movement Dancers should arrive 45 minutes before their show time and teachers will go over the dance with them on stage during that time before helping them into their costume.

Rehearsal Schedule:

Everyone who is dancing in the 6:30 show on December 14th should attend this rehearsal located AT PARKVIEW HIGH SCHOOL. Please double check the casting below. We will be taking photos during this rehearsal, setting lighting cues, and it will be the only chance for dancers to rehearse this show on stage. This rehearsal is mandatory for everyone performing.

Special notes: We will NOT hold regular classes at the studio during this rehearsal. Elementary dancers will have a lot of waiting time as they are each only in one dance. They should bring something to entertain themselves and snacks while waiting for their turn to dance. They will also be allowed to watch the company rehearsing while they wait for their turn. Our goal is to be done by 10:00pm, however, we always leave extra time when trying to set the complicated lighting and technical cues in the theater and appreciate parents’ patience. Elementary dancers are dismissed as soon as we are done running the show. All Elementary III dancers should arrive by 6:30 for rehearsal.

Rehearsal Schedule:

En Pointe will be featured in the annual Lilburn Christmas Parade on December 7th. The parade is in old town Lilburn and will travel down Main Street towards the park. Join us for this family fun outing!

Avoda Dance Company will be performing excerpts from Nutcacker Suite at the annual Lilburn Christmas tree lighting on November 23rd.

Avoda Dance Company dancers are working on their 2024 service project. This year, we are raising funds for the Heart of Madison Foundation. This non-profit delivers special meals to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta patients and families in the cardiac unit during the holidays, has a scholarship fund for UGA students, and more. We will be raising money through our Nutcracker Tea on November 16th and all donations will be given to the foundation to help purchase and deliver meals to the cardiac patients this holiday season. Any amount can be donated, but we suggest $5 per attendee. Attendees will get to watch a special preview of the Nutcracker Suite, meet and greet with the dancers, learn a Nutcracker themed dance, and enjoy treats. Later, in December, our company dancers are also going to visit patients at CHOA to bring holiday cheer and dancing to the hospital. We are excited to give back through our talents and to inspire our young dancers to help others.
